All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they prepare for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in the US.

Chelsea are less than a week away from their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, and they are hoping for another new signing to join them in the United States. The Blues have already signed Liam Delap, and they are hoping to land a new starting goalkeeper before they kick off Stateside.

Enzo Maresca will also want plenty of other new signings this summer, with a centre-back, winger and potentially another striker required. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Rogers deal on the cards

Chelsea are said to be interested in Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, who is attracting interest this summer amid a reported release clause of £80million. Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Si Phillips Talks Chelsea Substack that the Blues have already reached out to the midfielder’s agents over a possible summer transfer.

Rogers was one of Villa’s star performers in the season just gone, and one particular December game led Villa boss Unai Emery to say: "Morgan played fantastic today - he is very important. Through him, we are getting the performance back because he links strikers with midfielders and wingers.‌Today, he was fantastic in the second half, connecting with strikers and scoring the goal. He has to add goals to his numbers and today he was fantastic."

Villa could yet move to raise Rogers’ wage and remove his release clause altogether, but until that happens, Chelsea and any interested clubs will be looking to turn his head, and getting in touch with the player’s agent - as the Blues reportedly have - is the first step in such a process.

Sarr signed

Chelsea have completed the signing of Mamadou Sarr from partner club Strasbourg. The deal will reportedly cost around £12million, with the 19-year-old likely a signing for the future.

The club confirmed on their website: “Chelsea is delighted to confirm the transfer of Mamadou Sarr from Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, with the defender signing a contract until 2033. Mamadou was a regular for Strasbourg during the 2024/25 campaign and played a key role in the French team securing qualification for European football next season. The 19-year-old made 28 appearances across all competitions and helped the club seal a place in next season’s UEFA Conference League play-off.”

Contract offer incoming

Chelsea are said to be preparing a new contract offer for midfielder Moises Caicedo, who more than proved his worth in the season just gone. The Blues need to offer the midfielder a pay rise to keep other top clubs from approaching him and turning his head.

Speaking on The Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano said: “My understanding is that Chelsea, internally, are preparing a new contract proposal to be discussed. (They’re not in a rush because the contract is still very long, but [it’s] to be discussed [in the] next months with Moises Caicedo because they love the player. They have a feeling that many top clubs around Europe are really appreciating him.”
