Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim must ensure that all of the necessary steps are taken to manage one key first-team Red Devils star for the 2025-26 campaign.
Ruben Amorim will face immense pressure next season at Old Trafford after a lacklustre 2024-25 Premier League campaign for Manchester United.
The 40-year-old United manager took charge of the Red Devils last season after Erik ten Hag was sacked and Amorim led the club to 15th in the Premier League table.
Amorim, who arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting CP in 2024, struggled to see the Red Devils turn around their woeful form in United’s Premier League campaign.
United ended the season with their worst Premier League finish in history and the Red Devils will be without European football for the 2025-26 campaign.
The misery piled on further for Amorim and Co at Old Trafford after United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the 2025 Europa League final at the San Mames Stadium in May.

Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim received major injury boost news with Lisandro Martinez’s progression at Old Trafford
Ruben Amorim was dealt a major blow during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign after Lisandro Martinez was ruled out of action due to an injury.
Lisandro Martinez sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his knee during United’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in February.
The 27-year-old Argentine was stretchered off late in the second half of United vs Crystal Palace and Martinez missed the remainder of the Red Devils’ season.
Martinez, who was a key influence under former United manager Erik ten Hag, had established himself as an important part of Amorim’s tactical system for United.
According to Sky Sports on Saturday, the United and Argentina defender is believed to be targeting a ‘return as early as possible’ for Amorim’s men in the next season.
It is believed that both United and Martinez are ‘understood to be satisfied’ with the player’s rehabilitation after he underwent surgery four months ago on his injury.
Another major boost for Amorim came with the former Ajax star taking part in tests last week and it was found that Martinez has no tear in his meniscus.

Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim must handle Lisandro Martinez with care and only call on him when it is essential
Sky Sports added that Lisandro Martinez and the Red Devils are not willing to take ‘unnecessary risks with integrating’ him back into the United first-team squad.
Martinez’s time at Old Trafford has been curtailed by injuries after United signed the Argentine defender from Dutch side Ajax in a deal worth up to £57m in 2022.
The 2022 World Cup winner has excelled for the Red Devils in the backline and shown his versatility by playing under the tactics of Amorim and Ten Hag.
Martinez has not only been a leader in the backline for United, but the Argentina international has been a strong force as the left-sided centre-back for Amorim.
The Argentina and United defender has excelled with his ability to progress the ball from the back and to find key line-breaking passes for the Red Devils.
Martinez has been a calming presence for United fans in the three-man backline and his phased return to the Red Devils is essential to avoid any further injuries.
