Rumours of Ruben Amorim reuniting with Viktor Gyokeres are continuing to develop as Manchester United continue to monitor the talented striker.
The main fuel to the fire over the last week has been the revelation of Amorim’s continued contact with his star man since they parted ways with Amorim moving to Old Trafford in November.
With United’s recent failure to sign Liam Delap, Gyokeres appears to be a constant on their shortlist, with the Sweden international generating significant interest from across Europe with his standout performances for Sporting Lisbon.
Over the last two years, Gyokeres has helped the Portuguese side to win two Liga Portugal titles and the Taca de Portugal, with 97 goals and grabbed 28 assists in 102 games across all competitions.
However, the striker has now fallen out with the Portuguese champions as the club have seemingly breached the gentleman’s agreement in place between both parties.

Viktor Gyokeres “furious” with Sporting Lisbon
It’s understood that Gyokeres is “furious” with Sporting after they have neglected to hold their end of an agreement which should have seen the Sweden international free to leave the club for transfer offers of £50 million plus £8.4 million in add-ons this summer.
However, instead, the club have been demanding a valuation of £67 million to be met for any side to sign the talented striker.
Now, Gyokeres has made his feelings public as the 27-year-old has removed Sporting from his Instagram bio, leaving it blank simply labelling him as a “Sportsperson”.
This decision of Gyokeres’ to strip his bio of everything clearly shows an emotional reaction to Sporting refusing to honour their agreement, only pushing the striker further from the club.
United will now surely be hoping to cash in on the fallout between Sporting and their star striker.
