Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is preparing for what could be a career-altering offseason, but first he visited Brazil.
The 30-year-old attended an event in Rio De Janeiro on Monday to open a new basketball court he created in collaboration with “No Brazil.” The orange-colored court features a large cartoon version of the NBA All-Star holding a basketball, which he autographed.
However, it was raining that day, and before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Antetokounmpo attempted to throw down a slam dunk but slipped and fell on his back. Thankfully, he was not injured and would still be able to dunk the ball through the net.
But the hilarious moment immediately received attention from NBA fans, who shared laughs about the slip on social media.
“Now he’ll be out for half the season, lol,” one fan wrote on X.
“ð¬,” another shared.
“ð¤£ð¤£ð¤£,” another fan commented.
“That’s hilarious ð,” one wrote.
“Entire city of Milwaukee just collectively gasped,” another shared.
“Don’t get hurt man, we need you soon,” another commented.
Other comments included some writing that he can’t get injured before the offseason if the Bucks want to trade him and receive a high return value. Furthermore, the jokes span from rumors claiming Antetokounmpo could be traded this summer to the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors or New York Knicks.
Some fans also thought the orange court symbolized his desire to play for the Knicks next season, but that has yet to be confirmed.
