Sacramento Kings could select one of these players in NBA draft

Sacramento’s first five pre-draft workouts consisted of prospects who are hoping to prove they deserve an opportunity to play in the NBA.

Some of the players who came in for Monday’s workout are already projected as viable options for the Kings when they make their selection in the middle of the second round.

Monday’s workout featured Duke guard Tyrese Proctor, Australian forward Alexander Toohey, French forward Mohamed Diawara, LSU guard Camryn Carter, Oregon guard Tijani Bamba and Tennessee guard Jahmai Mashack.

The 2025 NBA draft will be held June 25-26. Sacramento’s first-round pick belongs to the Atlanta Hawks. The Kings have the 42nd overall pick in Round 2.

Kings general manager Scott Perry will try to utilize the draft, trades and free agency to address the team’s needs this summer. The Kings need a starting point guard after trading De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. They also want to add length and athleticism on the wings.

Proctor is a 6-foot-4, 183-pound point guard who averaged 12.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.8 steals as a junior at Duke. He shot 45.2% from the field and 40.5% from 3-point range.

NBAdraft.net has Proctor going to the Golden State Warriors with the 41st pick in the draft. Tankathon.com has him going to the Kings at No. 42 while Yahoo Sports has him going to the Utah Jazz at No. 43.

Toohey is a 6-7, 223-pound power forward who averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists for the National Basketball League’s Sydney Kings. Yahoo Sports projects has Toohey going to the Brooklyn Nets at No. 36 while Tankathon.com has him going to the Toronto Raptors at No. 39.

Diawara is a 6-9, 227-pound power forward with a 7-3 ¾ wingspan. He averaged 5.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.6 steals for Cholet Basket in France. NBAdraft.net has him going to the Phoenix Suns with the 52nd pick in the draft.

Carter is a 6-3, 190-pound guard who played for Montana State, Kansas State and LSU. He averaged 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals as a senior at LSU, shooting 42.5% from the field and 39.2% from 3-point range.

Bamba is a 6-4, 215-pound shooting guard who played for Washington State, Villanova and Oregon. As a senior at Oregon, he averaged 10.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 38.9% overall and 25.3% from beyond the arc.

Mashack is a 6-2, 197-pound shooting guard. He averaged 6.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals as a senior at Tennessee, shooting 45.4% from the field and 35.1% from 3-point range.
