Is there a single person on the planet upset about Roman Anthony getting promoted by the Boston Red Sox?
Yes, and his name is Ryan Noda.
Noda was designated for assignment on Monday, as he lost his spot on the 40-man roster to baseball’s top prospect in what can best be described as an accounting move.
Noda, 29, was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations on May 22. The Red Sox then optioned him to Triple-A Worcester, where he spent three weeks before the organization decided to move in without him.
Anthony, his now-former teammate, will head across the state to make his debut with the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
