After showing up for voluntary workouts earlier in the offseason and sparking some controversy, Kirk Cousins elected not to attend voluntary OTAs for the Falcons last week.
It brought about some skepticism about whether he would be at mandatory minicamp this week, but I’m not sure why. When it comes to money, we all know what Kirk Cousins is going to do. It’s official now, though. According to [_The Athletic_‘s Dianna Russini,](https://x.com/DMRussini/status/1932125803518816431) Cousins will be present at mandatory minicamp this week.
This shouldn’t shock anyone. The Falcons can’t make Kirk Cousins stay away, and the veteran quarterback will always be about his money. That won’t stop the onslaught of drama from the media, though.
The Falcons invited controversy into the fold when they elected to sign Cousins and draft Michael Penix Jr. in the span of six weeks. It might not impact the locker room directly, even if I have my own doubts about that, but it will bring about questions from the media, which is just a distraction.
It’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic unfolds this offseason.
