Chelsea have reportedly decided they will end their pursuit of AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan if they are unable to sign him before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
The Blues are looking to strengthen their squad before they head to the new expanded Club World Cup in the USA.
Chelsea will begin the tournament with a game against Los Angeles FC on June 16, before they face Flamengo and Esperance de Tunis.
They are keen to head to the competition with a new goalkeeper, having stepped their interest in Milan's Maignan in recent days.
Maignan has made it clear he wants to join Enzo Maresca's side, but crucially, the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement over a transfer.

Chelsea set deadline for Maignan transfer
According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea have given Milan an ultimatum before the first instalment of the summer transfer window shuts on Tuesday at 7pm.
The market will reopen on June 16, but the Blues will not revive their interest in Maignan if they fail to agree a deal before Tuesday's deadline.
The latest update claims that the two clubs held talks throughout Monday in a bid to find a breakthrough in transfer negotiations.
Milan are trying to maximise the fee for Maignan, but Chelsea are unwilling to pay any more than £12.6m (€15m) for a player who is out of contract in 2026.

Why are Chelsea keen to sign Maignan?
On paper, Chelsea are in no desperate need to sign a new goalkeeper, considering they already boast a number of options in that department.
In addition to Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, Mike Penders is set to officially join the Blues ahead of the Club World Cup, while Djordje Petrovic will return to Stamford Bridge following his loan spell with Strasbourg.
However, Sanchez and Jorgensen both failed to convince at various stages of the 2025-26 campaign, casting doubt as to whether either of the pair can be Chelsea's number one for the next few years.
Maignan would undoubtedly improve Chelsea's goalkeeping department, especially as he boasts valuable Champions League experience.
