The Memphis Grizzlies were swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of this year's playoffs.
All-Star point guard Ja Morant suffered a hip injury in Game 3 and missed Game 4.
The Grizzlies selected Morant with the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Since then, Memphis has won just one postseason series.
Many believe the Grizzlies need to surround Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane with another talented two-way player to compete in the rugged Western Conference.
With that said, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report proposed that the Grizzlies trade for New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges this offseason.
Pincus came up with a three-team trade idea that sees Bridges go from New York to Memphis:
New York Knicks get:
Milwaukee Bucks get:
OG Anunoby (from Knicks)
Brandon Clarke (from Grizzlies)
Vince Williams Jr. (from Grizzlies)
GG Jackson II (from Grizzlies)
2026 Washington Wizards protected first-round pick (from Knicks)
2026 first-round swap rights (from Knicks)
2028 protected first-round pick (from Grizzlies)
2030 first-round swap rights (from Knicks)
2032 protected first-round pick (from Grizzlies)
2032 first-round swap rights (top-five protected for the Knicks)
Grizzlies get:
Mikal Bridges (from Knicks)
The Knicks acquired Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets last summer.
Bridges, who has never missed a game in the NBA, averaged 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists this season while shooting 50.0% from the field, 35.4% from beyond the arc and 81.4% from the foul line.
"Since moving on from Dillon Brooks, Memphis has been trying to acquire a defensive-minded wing who can score. The Grizzlies finally land one of their top targets in Bridges," Pincus wrote.
"Provided he communicates the willingness to extend after six months (likely with an unbinding and technically not legal promise behind the scenes), Memphis gives up draft compensation and a couple of young players to bolster its position in the West."

Bridges will make $24.9 million next season in the final year of the four-year, $90.9 million extension he signed with the Phoenix Suns in 2021.
A Villanova product, Bridges is eligible to sign an extension this offseason.
The 28-year-old Bridges has played for the Suns, Nets and Knicks. He has career averages of 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
