Jaire Alexander is part of the Green Bay Packers no more after the two parties failed to find a common ground after months-long negotiation about his contract.

The two sides failed to find a compromise on the cornerback’s extension with reports saying he was given a new deal with more incentives for the 2025 season and new negotiations will commence in 2026.
The Packers offered Jaire Alexander a reduced, incentive-laden one-year deal that’d make him a free agent in 2026—Alexander turned it down, not liking the structure. Green Bay tried to trade him in March, and during the draft.
That also failed, so Alexander’s a June free agent.

Discussion of Alexander’s future started as early as November last year after his season ended in Week 11 due to a knee injury. He underwent surgery in January.

Details about his future have been bleak since then with team officials being cryptic about Alexander.
GM wishes Jaire Alexander the best
Packers drafted Alexander as their 18th pick in the 2018 NFL draft and he instantly established himself as one of the key cogs of the team. He became a Pro Bowl in his third year and then repeated it in 2022.
He is easily among the most beloved GB players of all time and that’s how general manager Brian Gutekunst summarizes his career in Wisconsin.
Gutekunst said he fulfilled his role as cornerback which is one of the hardest position in the league.
“In his seven seasons with the Packers, Jaire established himself as one of the premier players in the NFL at one of the game’s most challenging positions,” said Gutekunst as quoted by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“His contributions to our organization were felt on the field, in the locker room and in our community, and he will be missed. We appreciate all he gave and we wish him all the best moving forward.”
Alexander will move on to a new chapter and he is expected to be among the most coveted in the free agency.
