Italy's media have a lot to say about Nottingham Forest target Davide Fratessi's display vs…

Nottingham Forest are making some ambitious moves this summer transfer window.

Evangelos Marinakis is ready to spend big this window as he aims to make Nottingham Forest a regular at the top end of the Premier League table.

Forest are exploring a deal to sign Douglas Luiz, who can leave Juventus if Marinakis meets his £34m asking price.

Luiz’s teammate Nico Gonzalez is also being eyed by Forest, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen to recruit a wide player.

Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi continues to be linked with a move to the City Ground, too, and he was in action for Italy on Monday evening.

Forest are rivalling Tottenham Hotspur to sign Frattesi, and it’s understood the Inter star could be open to joining the Tricky Trees.

He starred in Italy’s 2-0 win against Moldova last night, and the national media praised his attacking threat, even if he didn’t manage to convert a chance.

Here’s what Football Italia had to say.

6/10 – “His trademark late runs produced some chances for the Azzurri. The Inter defender had his best chance in the second half, but his shot from a good position was saved.”

The Cult of Calcio added.

8/10 – “The exit-bound Inter midfielder seemingly enjoys his role under Spalletti. Despite failing to score, he racked up another assist and was an omnipresent threat in the final third.”

Leggo stated.

5.5/10 – “He always positions himself in the opponent’s area looking for the good ball to do what he does best: score. No way. He’s not even lucky.”

Frattesi’s stats vs Moldova

The Forest target, who would be considered a real coup, played 90 minutes in Luciano Spalletti’s final game in charge of the 2020 Euro winners.

Here are Frattesi’s in-game statistics, as per Sofascore.

90 minutes

33 touches

2 key passes

1 assist

1 big chance missed

3 duels won

2 blocks

1 tackle

The 25-year-old operated as a box-to-box midfielder, with the licence to get into the final third and create chances.

Frattesi would give Espirito Santo a slightly different profile to what he already has, and of course, his European experience would be invaluable ahead of the Conference League campaign.

So, if Forest do manage to find an agreement with Inter, it’d be a really exciting recruit.
