DeMarcus Cousins loses control in Puerto Rico after wild ejection, beer-soaked exit

Guaynabo Mets center DeMarcus Cousins was ejected from a BSN game in Puerto Rico after a heated altercation with a courtside fan, which escalated into a beer-soaked confrontation with the crowd as he was escorted off the court.

Four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins caused a stir in Puerto Rico during a game between his team, the Guaynabo Mets, and Vaqueros de Bayamon on Monday night.

The 34-year-old center was ejected after getting into a heated exchange with a courtside fan, exchanging obscene gestures. As he left the court, things escalated further.

Fans poured beers on him, and Cousins responded by flipping off the crowd and appearing to try to return to the floor for a confrontation.

Security intervened, but Cousins pushed back for several seconds before being forcefully escorted into the tunnel.

Cousins, best known for his time with the Sacramento Kings, has extended his playing career overseas and in alternative leagues. He's had stints in Taiwan, Mongolia, Puerto Rico, and the Big3 League.

This past winter, he returned to the Mets de Guaynabo, reuniting with former Kings teammate Derrick Williams. Cousins also played for the team in 2023.

Before Monday's ejection, he was averaging 19.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists across nine games.

Cousins last played in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets throughout the 2021-22 season. During his 11-year NBA career, the former All-Star center played for seven different teams.
