Chelsea want to sell other centre-backs over in-demand star Trevoh Chalobah this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Chalobah, 25, was once again brought in from the cold to play an important role at Stamford Bridge in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.

He helped Enzo Maresca’s side qualify for the Champions League with a fourth-place finish and the Italian is now a big admirer of the defender.

However, it is believed Serie A title-winners Napoli and several Premier League clubs are now monitoring his situation.

Napoli and Premier League clubs keen on Chalobah

Chelsea would bank pure profit by selling Chalobah as he is an academy product – but he has proved the club’s most reliable centre-back in recent seasons.

The Blues shipped him out on loan to Crystal Palace in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, where he made 14 appearances and scored three goals.

He returned in mid-January and made 19 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea in the second half of the season.

Chalobah’s impressive performances earned him a first call-up for the England squad under ex-Blues boss Thomas Tuchel – and could make his debut against Senegal on Tuesday (10 June).

The defender has made 99 Chelsea appearances and is under contract with the west London side until June 2028.

Chelsea could push duo out this summer

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 6 June that Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic could both be pushed out this summer if Chelsea complete a cut-price deal for Mike Maignan.

AC Milan star Maignan is about to enter the final year of his contract at San Siro with no new agreement signed.

Chelsea have made an initial £10million bid – despite the Blues being told of Milan’s £25m valuation.
