Arsenal are facing a number of transfer dilemmas with Mikel Arteta seeing a number of his top targets be strongly linked with moves elsewhere.
The first of those arrived regarding Joan Garcia with the goalkeeper opting to join Barcelona from Espanyol. The Gunners responded excellently however, with Kepa Arrizabalaga set to arrive from Chelsea as the club's No.2 for just £5million.
In other areas of the pitch, Benjamin Sesko, Nico Williams and Martin Zubimendi are all admired by Arteta and at least one other club. For the latter, that is Real Madrid and though it has been claimed things could still change, a switch from Real Sociedad to Emirates Stadium remains the expectation.
The same can now be said for Sesko and Williams as meetings have been held which could impact Arsenal's pursuit. With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Gunners transfer news, updates and rumours.
Sesko approach from Saudi Arabia
Arsenal could brutally lose out on signing Sesko from RB Leipzig in less than 12 hours. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, important proposals have arrived for the Slovenia international from Saudi Arabia.
It has been claimed however, that he would prefer to remain in Europe with further talks expected. Ahead of their Club World Cup participation, Al-Hilal are believed to be an interested party following Victor Osimhen's decision to turn down their bumper offer.
football.london says: With the first part of the summer transfer window set to close imminently, Al-Hilal's aim will be to sign a striker for new manager Simone Inzaghi.
The Club World Cup officially begins this weekend and there is now limited time for a decision to be made with it appearing as though focus has now shifted onto Sesko. Arsenal have advanced in talks but are unlikely to match any proposal from the Middle East.
While Leipzig may want to sell to the highest bidder, the 21-year-old is not seemingly keen and therefore Arsenal can rest easy.
Williams to Bayern talks
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have identified Nico Williams as an alternative if they are unable to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners have been linked to the Athletic Bilbao star but his wage demands, which have resulted in new contract negotiations, continue to be a stumbling block.
According to Sky Sports Germany, while talks have intensified, Bayern have similar feelings on Williams' demands amid their pursuit of a high-profile left winger with Rafael Leao, Kaoru Mitoma and Cody Gakpo as other names linked.
football.london says: Bayern are more likely to alter their wage structure in comparison to Arsenal given their aims and the big names contracted to Allianz Arena.
Williams has started contract extension talks with his current club but a formal approach from Bayern could change everything. Arsenal could even use that to their advantage if it becomes clear he is keen on departing Spain.
With alternatives to Williams running out, as Jamie Gittens looks set to join Chelsea and Bryan Mbeumo wants Manchester United, Arsenal may have to bite the bullet and commit significant funds to that left winger addition that is needed.
