Conor Bradley gives Liverpool fans glimpse into future as inspirational captain

Liverpool full-back Conor Bradley has already captained his country at times and despite only being 21, he is already proving to be a leader and an inspiration at international level.

Next season, Bradley could have an increased role at Liverpool now that Trent Alexander-Arnold has moved to Real Madrid. He signed a new four-year contract at Anfield recently and will be vying with Jeremie Frimpong for a starting berth under Arne Slot.

For his country, meanwhile, Bradley is already established and is a leading player. And his international teammate Isaac Price says that he wants to emulate the club success that Bradley has enjoyed this season.

Price, who joined West Brom in January from Belgian side Standard Liege, believes Bradley is the ideal inspiration for him and many of his younger teammates.

"You look at Conor, he's a fantastic player," Price said, via the BBC. "The sky's the limit for him. For a player like me, looking at him, it's something that I aspire to do.

"I want to go and achieve the things that he's achieved, and he's done so much already. I know I want to go and achieve more. The same with Justin [Devenny]. He's had a very successful season and got a lot of minutes for Crystal Palace.

"I think that's the hardest thing to do as a young player is to break into a first team, especially at a Premier League club. They've both done that very well."

Bradley made 29 appearances in all competitions last season, with 10 starts across the Premier League and the Champions League. And Slot is a big fan of his number 84.

"Conor has such an intense playing style," Slot said before Liverpool played Arsenal in May. "They all run a lot but Conor is in his own league when it comes to running a lot.

"He is comparable maybe with Achraf Hakimi at PSG. He is everywhere during the game. But Hakimi is 26. He is much more used to doing this every single week."

"Conor needs time and a good program to keep him fit," Slot added. "He is not the only one who has not been a regular starter who has had some injuries this season, look at Diogo Jota and Harvey Elliott.

"The ones who are not regular starters, it is harder to keep them fit than the ones who are. If Conor is going to be the regular starter next season that could maybe help him.

"I think he had 20 games [in a row] last season when Trent was injured. Let’s hope that has a positive impact on his fitness as well."

Liverpool.com says: Bradley is a really talented player. As Slot hinted, the biggest thing for him to improve is consistency when it comes to his fitness. If he stays fit and can play every week, he should be confident of tying down his place in the starting XI.
