‘Historic contact’ – Aston Villa player yet to accept ‘exceptional’ renewal offer

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has regularly used Boubacar Kamara when he’s been available for selection.

The France international, who missed the start of last season due to injury, played 42 games for the Villans. He has a contract until 2027, and Aston Villa have already made an ‘exceptional offer’ for an extension.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Aston Villa have offered him a ‘historic contract’ without providing any details of their proposal.

The 25-year-old hasn’t accepted the renewal offer proposed by Unai Emery’s side yet. He ideally wanted to play in the Champions League, which Aston Villa just missed out on after finishing sixth, level on points with fifth placed Newcastle United.

Al-Hilal want to sign the midfielder this summer and are looking to take advantage of his situation at Villa Park to secure his services.

Simone Inzaghi’s new club have the financial resources to carry out this operation, but it’s unclear whether they can convince the player. If they do, then the Premier League club have to make a decision.

Kamara wants to play at the 2026 World Cup, and this may be a key factor when deciding his future.

With him not extending his contract yet, Foot Mercato believe Al-Hilal and other clubs could make approaches and Aston Villa are ‘preparing to be attacked’ for Kamara.
