Talks start to sign Leeds United youngster – €30m+ Wolves player is expensive alternative

Earlier today we covered an interview Mateo Joseph had granted to El Mundo, in which he talked about his struggle for prominence at Leeds United recently. The 21-year-old hasn’t had the role he’d have wanted with the Whites, but he didn’t use the opportunity to talk up an Elland Road exit.

Tuesday’s edition of ABC Sevilla reports the Leeds United youngster is a serious option for Real Betis, with them also considering a move for Wolves striker Fabio Silva.

The latter spent last season on loan at Las Palmas and it’s thought he’ll now look for a permanent Wolves exit.

ABC state that Joseph was also an option for Betis during the winter transfer window, but Leeds United requested a very high fee because they were in the battle for Premier League promotion. Talks have already been initiated for a potential summer move.

When it comes to Fabio Silva, ABC report Wolves are asking for more than €30m, something which Betis wouldn’t want to pay.

Joseph would therefore be the preferred option, but Leeds United don’t want to rush into selling the youngster. He’s set to take part for Spain at the U21s Euros, with their first match tomorrow.

Should he perform well then that helps his value.
