Gianluigi Donnarumma is reportedly open to a move to Manchester United. Utd manager Ruben Amorim is looking to shake things up ahead of the new season.
Premier League Struggles, but Donnarumma Still Interested
Manchester Utd have ended the 2024/25 season at 15th in the Premier League. Given that, they missed out on European football for the next campaign too. Meanwhile, PSG‘s Gianluigi Donnarumma is now being linked with a move to Old Trafford. He is fresh off a great run which saw him help his team win their first-ever UCL and a domestic double.
The 26-year-old had a key role in PSG’s wins over PL sides like Liverpool and Arsenal. He is said to be keen for a move to England. Although, PSG want to keep him. But, Donnarumma has just a year left on his contract and talks over a new deal are reportedly on hold.
Both Man United and rivals Man City are monitoring the situation closely. That shows his growing interest in England.
Onana Under Pressure, Ramos Also on United Radar
Ruben Amorim’s interest in the Italian also hints at a possible change in goal. Current keeper André Onana has had a poor spell since his arrival from Inter Milan. Now, Amorim is likely planning for a major reshuffle. Donnarumma would add the experience and quality to provide some much-needed solidity.
The Red Devils are also keeping tabs on another PSG player in striker Goncalo Ramos. The Portuguese forward has scored 18 goals last season. He is available and likely cheaper than some of the other targets such as Viktor Gyokeres. Ramos has been on Utd’s list since 2023. Amorim is pushing for a new striker, this deal could gather pace quickly.
Key players like Donnarumma and Ramos are in the mix this June. So, United may still have the firepower to rebuild and bounce back, even without European football.
