Knights is no stranger to the seventh tier side, having spent four years as a player there, and takes up this position alongside his academy coaching role.

He previously enjoyed a successful period as interim manager during the 23/24 season and had a spell as first team coach at Bromsgrove Sporting.

On being appointed at the West Midlands club, Knights said: β€œStourbridge is my club and I’ve been lucky enough to be part of it for a number of years meaning I know it inside out.

"For me, its a privilege to be given the opportunity to manage this fantastic club.

β€œI want to be the man to bring the good times back and put smiles back on the fans' faces along with my management team who all share the same passion and ambition as me for the club. I’m excited and can’t wait to get started.”

The Ipswich-born forward came through the academy ranks at Town, making one appearance for his hometown club, coming off the bench away at Sunderland in November 2004.

He went on to be a part of the team which won the FA Youth Cup later that season, but he didn't make another senior appearance for the Blues.

Knights will be joined at War Memorial Ground by assistant manager Tyrone Barnett, who had a loan spell at Portman Road in 2012.

Barnett enjoyed a successful time with Stourbridge FC at the end of last season, which saw him find some fine goalscoring form, and he will move into the coaching role alongside his playing commitments.
