Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly seething with Sporting Lisbon after they demanded a higher price for him than initially agreed, as he seeks a move to the Premier League.

The Swedish player has helped the Portuguese giants secure the domestic double and, having chosen to stay last summer, had an understanding with the club that they would allow him to leave for significantly less than his release clause. However, Sporting have still been asking for more than he anticipated, putting in doubt a move to Manchester United or Arsenal.

Sporting Lisbon have been demanding a whopping £67million for him. They had previously agreed to ask for £50m plus £8.4m in add-ons this summer - meaning they've asked for nearly £10m more, according to Record. This is said to have left Gyokeres livid, leading him to remove the club's name from his social media platforms.

Gyokeres has already rejected a potential move to Saudi Arabia after Al-Hilal saw their £55million bid turned down. He joins the list of strikers who have snubbed the Middle East league, with United and Arsenal still showing interest, reports the Mirror.

The Swedish striker is one of Europe's most coveted forwards after surpassing the 50 goal mark with Sporting Lisbon. He's been tipped for a move to the Premier League, but was recently offered the chance to earn a fortune by moving to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Hilal, who recently appointed ex-Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi as manager, had their sights set on Victor Osimhen. However, the Nigerian goal machine turned them down following his loan spell at Galatasaray, with his parent club, Napoli, keen to make a profit.

This led the Saudi team to shift their focus to Gyokeres, but the Swedish striker also declined a hefty offer. He could've pocketed an annual wage of £30m, but he's keen to keep playing in Europe, according to L'Equipe.

This leaves both Arsenal and United free to chase the 27-year-old, who previously had stints with Swansea and Coventry City before now Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim revitalised his career at Sporting.

The Portuguese manager is looking to beef up his attack at Old Trafford and might consider a reunion with Gyokeres. It's believed that Sporting would let him go for around £60m - despite seeking more earlier this window.

And it's believed the player himself is open to the move, even though United can't offer him Champions League football after their worst ever Premier League season ended in misery with a loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

Arsenal are also being mentioned as a potential destination. It's no secret that the Gunners are after a No.9, but it seems their top choice is now Benjamin Sesko at RB Leipzig, with talks ongoing about a possible transfer for the Slovenian striker.

As for Gyokeres, he's keeping his cards close to his chest regarding his future.
