Manchester United submitted their retained list on Monday afternoon, confirming the departure of nine players.

United had already confirmed Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen would be leaving the club when their deals expire on June 30.

Tom Heaton was also not on the retained list but the club have said contract talks with the veteran goalkeeper are ongoing.

Academy players Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan and Tom Wooster will be released when their contracts expire this summer, taking the total number of confirmed departures up to nine.

The transfer window closes on Tuesday evening before opening again next Monday. United have already confirmed their first arrival of the summer transfer window, with Wolves playmaker Matheus Cunha arriving in a £62.5million deal. He has agreed to sign a five-year deal subject to him obtaining a visa and registration.

He is United's only new recruit so far this summer, but the club is working on a deal to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. They saw an opening offer of £55million knocked back for the Cameroonian last week.

United are understood to still be in talks with the Londoners and they are expected to submit a new and improved offer. It is believed Brentford are holding out for a fee similar to the £62.5m United paid to sign Cunha.

United are expected to be busy when the window opens again next week, with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Antony all expected to leave.

United ins and outs so far:

In: Matheus Cunha (£62.5m - Wolves).

Out: Victor Lindelof (end of contract), Jonny Evans (end of contract) and Christian Eriksen (end of contract), Hubert Graczyk (end of contract), Tom Myles (end of contract), Tom Wooster (end of contract), Sam Murray (end of contract), Jack Kingdon (end of contract), James Nolan (end of contract).
