Alejandro Garnacho is seemingly at the end of his journey with Manchester United as the winger’s relationship with Ruben Amorim has broken down.
CentreDevils revealed the breakdown, which began developing from the Argentine being dropped from the Europa League final starting line up, with Garnacho vocally undermining the manager.
In response, Amorim addressed the 20-year-old in front of his teammates in training, saying “you better pray that you can find a club to sign you”.
Since then, the youngsters behaviour on the post-season tour of Asia has sparked controversy, with Garnacho showing a middle finger to fans and dramatically yawning when signing shirts.
Whilst Garnacho is seemingly putting nails in the coffin of his United career, he still is gathering interest from other clubs, with Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly monitoring the situation and making enquiries.
However, one of their key competitors for his signature is Napoli who have been long-term fans of Garnacho since losing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG halfway through last season.
Now though, Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Antonio Conte’s side may not be quite as hot on the winger anymore.
The report explains: “Garnacho – now on vacation in Rome, as shown on social media – is now part of the past.”
However, Napoli haven’t turned their attention entirely from Old Trafford, as they now look to former Serie A striker Joshua Zirkzee.
United are now considering a move including Zirkzee to land major target Victor Osimhen as part of a player-plus-cash deal.
The Nigerian striker has been on United’s shortlist as a strong candidate to lead Ruben Amorim’s attack next season following the lack of consistency provided by Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
