Jack Grealish’s future at Manchester City is up in the air ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Grealish is set to leave Man City this summer after the 29-year-old recently came to the realisation that his career at the Etihad Stadium is over, having experienced a tough few months with the Premier League giants.
The winger has not been a starter for Pep Guardiola for some time, with the Englishman starting just one out of City’s last 21 Premier League games.
England boss Thomas Tuchel has now encouraged Grealish to seek more minutes next season, as it is the only chance he has of playing at the 2026 World Cup.
Several clubs are showing an interest in the 29-year-old, but a return to Aston Villa may be the move that is closest to the winger’s heart; however, there is only one way that happens this summer.

Aston Villa will only sign Jack Grealish on loan
The biggest problem for Grealish this summer is the finances it will take to sign the 29-year-old from Man City.

According to talkSPORT, the Manchester club want at least £50m to part ways with the 29-year-old, who is also on £300,000-per-week at the Etihad Stadium, which no club will be willing to match.
The report states that Tottenham and Everton hold a genuine interest in signing Grealish ahead of the new season, while Newcastle are now very unlikely to make a move for the Englishman after previously being keen on the player.
Everton will only approach Grealish if he shows a willingness to join the Toffees on loan and City cover some of his wages. Aston Villa would be looking for a similar kind of structure if they are to consider re-signing their former star, who made 213 appearances for the Birmingham club between 2013 and 2021.
It is believed Grealish wants to play Champions League football next season, which makes Tottenham the best fit for the Man City star, while making a move to Aston Villa more difficult.

The best option for Jack Grealish’s career
If Grealish hopes to stay in England, Tottenham is the best option for the winger as the 29-year-old would certainly get minutes in North London, while also getting to compete in the Champions League.
However, with Napoli showing an interest in Grealish, a move to Serie A would be a great next step for the Man City star, as there is a space for the Englishman on the left wing of Antonio Conte’s team, and it is a move that would keep him out of the British media’s headlights for the most part.
With Napoli also set to sign Kevin De Bruyne, that would also make the transition for the 29-year-old smoother, having shared a dressing room with the Belgian over the last four years.
Wherever Grealish goes next, he needs to make sure he is playing regularly, whether that club has Champions League football or not.
The winger is a very talented player, and the football world wants to see the Man City star express himself again, as it feels like Grealish has only shown the best of himself on a handful of occasions in recent years.
