Manchester United are prepared to offer a first-team player in a ‘package deal’ to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, according to reports in Italy.
Osimhen is one of a number of top strikers who has been linked with a summer move to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim has made signing a new No. 9 his priority this summer after Manchester United’s dismal 2024-25 campaign in which they slumped to a 15th-place finish in the Premier League.
United were one of only a few top-flight clubs not to have a single player reach double digits in the Premier League.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirzkee’s struggles have prompted Manchester United to express interest in the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Osimhen.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils are ready to approach Napoli with a ‘package deal’ for Nigerian striker Osimhen.
Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli and helped the club win the Serie A title in 2022-23.

But he does not have a future at the club while Antonio Conte is in charge and was sent on loan to Galatasaray last summer after a deadline-day move to Chelsea collapsed.
Osimhen continued to impress in Turkey, bagging 37 goals in all competitions to help Galatasaray clinch the league title.
His performances caught the eye of Chelsea and Arsenal who, like Manchester United, are keen to add more firepower to their respective squads.

Osimhen is available for £63m but United, facing a difficult summer financially after failing to qualify for the Champions League, are keen to lower that fee by including a player in the deal.
Gazzetta dello Sport say the Manchester giants are considering offering Zirzkee to Napoli as they look to bring Osimhen to Old Trafford.
United spent £36.5m to sign Zirzkee from Bologna last summer but he endured an underwhelming first season in the Premier League, scoring justthree goals.
Zirkzee can become 'superstar' at Man Utd
‘I like Zirkzee – he was unfortunate to get injured when he did, but he’s a real baller and I think he can be a superstar for Manchester United if he can get games under his belt.
‘He needs a regular run. I don’t think he’s had a 10-game stint where he has actually played week in, week out.
‘There were reports that he wasn’t quite fit when he signed, so it took him a bit of time to get up to speed.
‘I think he was just finding his feet when he got injured but I think he’s going to prove a real key player next season.’
Manchester United hero Lee Sharpe told Metro
Manchester United reportedly rejected an approach from Inter Milan for Zirzkee earlier in the summer but are willing to use the Netherlands international as bait in a deal for Osimhen.
Alejandro Garnacho was linked with a move to Naples in January but reports in Italy say the Serie A champions are no longer interested in the United outcast.
But Conte is keen to sign a back-up forward to Romelu Lukaku so could be tempting by Zirkzee in order to get Osimhen off the books.

Osimhen rejected a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia as he ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League but looks set to be the subject of another bid from Al Hilal.
The Nigerian is not expected to make a U-turn on his decision, however, leaving Al Hilal to look at other options including Gyokeres and Sesko.
In an interview with Metro, John Obi Mikel – who is close to Osimhen – talked up a move to Manchester United or Arsenal.
‘I hope there is still a Premier League move for him this summer’, the ex-Premier League winner said. ‘I think the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, they still need a striker.
‘I don’t think [Rasmus] Hojlund is the guy for Manchester United. He runs around and works hard but he is not the guy who will score goals, put them in the top four and win them trophies.
‘So for me Manchester United might be the destination. I don’t want to see him in Saudi right now because he still has so much to offer in Europe.
‘It would be a shame to see him go there. So maybe Arsenal, United, Juventus and PSG too [are his options]. Let’s see what happens.’
