Liverpool have recently held talks with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen over a potential summer move, journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed.
The Premier League winners are aiming to sign a new starting striker for Arne Slot in the coming months and have reportedly earmarked Osimhen as another alternative.
While Newcastle star Alexander Isak remains their dream target, a move for Osimhen, whose wage demands are £400,000 a week, could prove much more plausible, considering Napoli are open to selling the 26-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract.
Osimhen, praised as 'the best striker in the world', has recently rejected an approach from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal and remains a player of interest to Turkish club Galatasaray, where he played on loan this season.

According to Bailey, Osimhen is determined to move to the Premier League this summer, and his camp held talks with both Liverpool and Manchester United last month.
Chelsea, who were interested in the Nigeria international last summer, have not progressed with their pursuit following Liam Delap’s arrival from Ipswich Town.
Napoli are keen to secure as big a deal as possible for the 25-year-old striker, who has a £63m release clause, which Al-Hilal were willing to pay.
However, with Osimhen’s preference reportedly being to remain in Europe, he is not currently considering a move to the Middle East at this stage of the transfer window.
Liverpool have announced Jeremie Frimpong as their first summer signing and remain eager to complete another two quick deals, with Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez now expected to join.
The Reds are likely to break the British transfer record in their pursuit of Wirtz, who is expected to cost around €150m (£127m).
