Contact made: Everton set to make official bid to sign 'special' winger compared to Gareth Bale …

Everton are set to make an official offer to sign Galatasaray's Baris Alper Yilmaz after making contact with the Turkish side, according to A Spor.

The Toffees are set for one of their busiest summer transfer windows in recent history, with a host of players being out of contract. David Moyes has a small squad heading into the new season as it stands, and there's an argument to suggest they need up to 10 players in the market.

Signing a new centre-forward appears to be one of their priorities after they were in the race to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap. Fabrizio Romano claimed that Everton were preparing a big-money offer to sign Delap after his relegation with Ipswich, before he made the move to Chelsea.

According to a report from Turkish outlet A Spor, Everton are set to make an official offer to sign Galatasaray forward Yilmaz after making contact with the club. The Toffees are ready to make an offer of around £17m, but Galatasaray will be looking to receive a fee of £30m to allow him to depart.

The Toffees recently made an approach for the forward, and an offer could be just around the corner. Yilmaz's versatility could make him a useful option for Moyes. The Scottish manager will need players to cover a host of positions, considering the lack of options he currently has, and Yilmaz is a player capable of playing all across the front line.

The 25-year-old, described as 'special' and compared to former Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, predominantly plays on either wing, but he's also been utilised as a central striker, as well as even covering at right-back from time to time. Yilmaz could come in and play on the right-hand side for Moyes, with Lindstrom and Harrison's loan spells ending at the end of the current season.
