It’s a good time to be a Liverpool fan.
The Reds’ transfer ambitions are accelerating, with deals for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez nearing decisive breakthroughs.
The pursuit of Wirtz has dominated headlines, with negotiations now centered on bridging a £8m gap between Liverpool’s latest £113m bid and Leverkusen’s £126m valuation.
It’s been widely reported that a compromise around £118m – including achievable add-ons – is imminent, with personal terms already settled.
Wirtz’s eagerness to join, coupled with his rejection of Bayern Munich’s higher wage offer, underscores his commitment to Anfield and a medical could be scheduled within days.
But it’s not only the men’s team that is busy with transfer dealings.
The Athletic has reported that Arsenal has made an approach for Liverpool Women’s vice-captain Taylor Hinds.
The 26-year-old sees her contract at Melwood expire on June 30.
The Gunners, fresh off their UEFA Women’s Champions League triumph and a second-place WSL finish, view Hinds’ versatility and top-flight experience as critical for their multi-front ambitions under manager Renee Slegers.
Interestingly, Hinds is a product of Arsenal’s academy and made her sole senior appearance for the club in 2017.
After brief stints at Everton and a pivotal role in Liverpool’s 2022 Championship promotion, she became a linchpin for the Reds, amassing over 100 appearances and earning the vice-captaincy in 2023.
Her adaptability – excelling at left-back, wing-back, and midfield – proved vital during Liverpool’s turbulent 2024/25 season, which saw them finish seventh amid managerial instability following Matt Beard’s March departure
Liverpool have tabled what is described as a “strong” renewal offer, but Hinds’ childhood ties to Arsenal and their status as Champions League winners is head-turning.
The defender, eligible for Jamaica through heritage, debuted for the Reggae Girlz in October 2024, citing pride in representing her family’s roots.
A return to North London would reunite her with former Everton teammate Chloe Kelly, who is finalizing a permanent Arsenal move after a loan spell from Manchester City.
