Chelsea are very busy in the transfer window. They have signed players like Liam Delap who will play in Club World Cup. But, the club also had to face rejection on some occasions. Recently, they have lost one of their top targets ahead of transfer deadline.
The Blues will be unable to sign Mike Maignan for Club World Cup. They are not ready to meet transfer fee demands of AC Milan. As a result, the French shot-stopper will be unable to complete his dream move to Stamford Bridge. But, the West London club are unwilling to do this incase of their other target.
Chelsea retain their interest in young English star
The star in question here is Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund. He is 20 years old and plays as winger. The Blues have been showing interest in him since a very long time. The English winger has told Dortmund that he wants to leave and the German giants are open for it.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are in active talks to sign Gittens. But, the deal is not expected to get over the line at the end of today’s deadline. However, Chelsea will still want to sign Gittens later in the summer and they are not in rush.

Dortmund believe there will be more competition for Gittens’ signature later in the summer, which is why they have hopes of getting a higher sum.

Gittens is a perfect fit as per Chelsea’s current demands. He is right footed player and plays on left wing. In addition, he can also play on opposite flank or in middle when needed. Lastly, he is very young which has been the top priority for the Blues since their takeover. Gittens can cost around £50 million this summer.
