Dwyane Wade Sends Strong Message to Fellow Heat Legend

Dwayne Wade spent 14 years of his career with the Miami Heat and led the franchise to three NBA championships. On Monday, however, he paid tribute to a Miami Heat icon whose legacy runs even deeper.

Wade played alongside Udonis Haslem in all his NBA title runs with Miami. While Wade also had NBA stints with the Bulls and Cavaliers, Haslem dedicated his entire NBA career to Miami. In recognition of his contribution to the franchise, the Heat officially retired the No. 40 jersey worn by Haslem.

As Haslem turned 45 on Monday, June 9, Wade took to social media to honor his longtime teammate with a celebratory post.

He posted a photo of himself and Haslem on his Instagram story and captioned it, “IT’S MY BROTHER BIRTHDAY! @ UD40.”

The Heat legends are teaming up once again, with Haslem and Wade both joining Amazon Prime’s NBA broadcast crew for the upcoming season.

Following a successful stint with ESPN, Haslem is headed to Prime Video, where he’ll be part of the NBA studio team alongside Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, and Taylor Rooks, contributing to pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage.

The Heat’s all-time leading rebounder also continues to serve as the team’s Vice President of Basketball Development. He is frequently seen in Heat practice session and has also been involved in the Heat’s ongoing postseason preparations.

Wade will occasionally join Haslem in the Prime Video studio while also taking on game analyst duties—a role he previously held with NBC during last summer’s Paris Olympics.
