As a Newcastle United fan, you wait around for weeks for some positive transfer news and then two pieces come along at once.
This morning, Sky Sports reported that there is finally some movement on Newcastle United's pursuit of Burnley and England goalkeeper James Trafford.
The two clubs are reportedly in talks over a deal for the 22-year-old after a move broke down 12 months ago. Sky claims that Trafford will compete with Nick Pope for the No. 1 spot next season.
We've been expecting movement on this one for a while, so it's good to finally see talks underway.

The Chronicle dropped an exclusive as I was writing about James Trafford
Just as I was writing up the James Trafford story, a message pinged up from The Chronicle's WhatsApp feed, and at a glance, I just saw the words "EXCLUSIVE" and "Dominic Calvert-Lewin", and my heart sank.
I finished the Trafford piece and went to check The Chronicle's story, and I read the words "Newcastle United have decided not to pursue Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin," and the world became a brighter place.
The persistent links with Dominic Calvert-Lewin have kept me in a state of constant dread because it always felt like a realistic possibility, and in my eyes, he's simply not worth the effort.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not currently on Newcastle's wishlist
His injury record is even worse than his goal-scoring record. I said yesterday that he would feel like a sideways step from Callum Wilson, but as one of our readers pointed out, I was being very generous and slightly disrespectful to Wilson.
Things can change in a moment in football, but right now I'm absolutely ecstatic that Newcastle have opted against pursuing the Everton man.
As The Chronicle states, things could change as the window goes on and Newcastle become more desperate, but he's not on the list for now, and that will get me through the next few weeks.
