The Pacers stole Game 1 of the NBA Finals but got a reality check in Game 2 as the Oklahoma City Thunder cruised to a win to even up the series. The series now heads to Indianapolis for a critical Game 3 and head coach Rick Carlisle stopped by for his weekly conversation to discuss what went wrong in Game 2, how they avoid the same issues in Game 3 and going forward as well as Tyrese Haliburton’s noticeable limp in his postgame press conference.
> “We haven’t played well enough. We’re fortunate to be 1-1 but we’ve been outscored in seven of the eight quarters, so we have to be better.” – Rick Carlisle on how the series has played out so far
Carlisle didn’t have an update for Tyrese Haliburton, responding with a “No” when asked if there was an update on him. He also discussed adjusting versus doing what brought them to the dance, SGA’s spatial awareness and keeping team confidence high from a game in and game out basis.
