Manchester United's Marcus Rashford is eyeing an exit from the Premier League giants this summer as his future hangs in the balance.

Rashford, a product of United's academy, made a smashing debut in February 2016, netting two goals against Arsenal in a 3-2 victory. He quickly became a fan favourite at Old Trafford and earned a regular spot in Gareth Southgate's England squad.

However, after penning a contract extension in 2023, his form took a hit. He then spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after falling out with Ruben Amorim - moving to Villa Park where he shone under Unai Emery.

But it seems his stint in the Midlands has come to an end, leaving everyone guessing about his next move. Villa had the chance to snap up Rashford for £40million after his loan spell.

Yet, there was no word on a permanent transfer at the end of last season, with Rashford posting a heartfelt message on social media thanking the fans as the season wrapped up, reports the Express.

In May, rumours swirled that Rashford was not keen on taking a pay cut to part ways with United, with the star reportedly pocketing around £315,000 per week up north.

However, he later seemed to have a change of heart regarding the terms he'd accept to make his Old Trafford departure happen.

Rashford's got his eyes set on a dream move to Barcelona, with his brother and agent Dwaine Maynard reportedly having talks with Barca's sporting director Deco just last month.

Deco had already dropped hints earlier, saying: "We like Luis [Diaz - of Liverpool], we like Rashford, and we like other players. When we go to the market, there are names that we know and that could improve the team."

It seems that Rashford's been knocking back every transfer offer, playing the waiting game for a chance to jet off to Spain. Barca's manager Hansi Flick and the top brass seem quite taken with Rashford's burning desire to don their famous strip.

However, the plot thickens as Barcelona are reportedly balking at the £40m asking price for Rashford, as per Bild's scoop. Rumours have suggested a potential swap deal involving Barca's keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen to sweeten the deal for United.

In the meantime, United legend Gary Neville dished out some blunt advice on The Overlap show, It's Called Soccer.

He said: "Marcus Rashford has to leave Manchester United. That ship has sailed and he needs to find himself another club."
