Alan Pardew explains why he wants Bryan Mbeumo to join Man Utd,'the Premier League needs...'

Manchester United are in the process of working on a deal to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

Manchester United are wasting no time in the transfer window this summer.

After a turbulent campaign, which saw United lose the Europa League final to Tottenham before finishing 15th in the Premier League, Ruben Amorim is being tasked with turning things around at Old Trafford next season.

Amorim will require the backing of Ineos to improve his squad over the summer, with United announcing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves at the beginning of the transfer window.

United are now expected to make a second offer for Bryan Mbeumo after having their first bid rejected. Some reports suggest Thomas Frank will try and convince Mbeumo to go to Tottenham if he succeeds Ange Postecoglou as head coach.

It is understood that Mbeumo is prioritising a move to United, despite interest from other Premier League clubs, including Newcastle.

Alan Pardew advises Bryan Mbeumo to join Manchester United

Mbeumo has a decision to make this summer, while he waits for United to work on reaching an agreement with Brentford.

The potential transfer has caused debate on talkSPORT, with one presenter arguing that Mbeumo should opt to join Tottenham over United because they can offer Champions League football next season.

However, former Premier League manager Alan Pardew doesn’t agree and believes Mbeumo is a perfect fit for the United shirt.

Pardew also argues that the Premier League needs United to be competing again.

“I’d like to see him [Mbuemo] in a United shirt,” Pardew said.

“I don’t know. There is just something about him that, I think, looks right at Man United. They need him, they’re desperate.

“We need a big Man United. We don’t need a little Man United that can get turned over.

“I think the Premier League needs Man United for the historical levels. I want a big Man United, and everyone else can be big as well, but not quite as big as Man United or Liverpool and Chelsea. Come on the Chels!”

It was then raised to Pardew that Mbeumo shouldn’t snub Tottenham after qualifying for the Champions League. He replied: “If he’s listening in, obviously he can make his own mind up.”

Pardew’s infamous dance against Man Utd

Alan Pardew was Crystal Palace’s manager in 2016 when they lost the FA Cup final against United.

Palace scored the opening goal through Jason Puncheon in the 78th minute as Pardew opted to dance on the touchline.

The lead didn’t last long as Juan Mata equalised three minutes later to force extra time.

Despite being down to 10 men, United went on to win 2-1 thanks to a Jesse Lingard screamer.

Pardew regretted his decision to dance on the touchline, but he still has a lot of respect for United, as we can see from his recent comments on the potential signing of Mbeumo.
