Chelsea have submitted a fresh bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens (20), according to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s first bid for the Borussia Dortmund winger was worth €35m. That bid was rejected by the Bundesliga giants. However, as per French journalist Hawkins, the latest bid tabled is worth €50m. It remains to be seen how the German side will respond.
The England youth international already has an agreement in place with Chelsea over a seven-year deal. French media Sports Zoneadds that Gittens is keen on Premier League football. The 20-year-old reportedly told his advisors he would be available to join Chelsea. Gittens would be the second player to join Enzo Maresca’s Conference League winners after Ipswich Town centre-forward Liam Delap.
Chelsea’s fresh bid for the winger is a sign that the club are looking to sign the player in time to have him available for the FIFA Club World Cup. The deadline to buy him, in that case, would be Tuesday.
