The goalkeeper drew attention from the Blues after a string of fine performances for Werder Bremen. The former Bremen shot stopper has plied her trade across Europe with stints in Spain, Sweden and Germany. At Bremen Peng helped the club to a seventh place finish last season and a place in the DFB-Pokal Frauen final.
Peng started her career in her home country playing for FC Zurich where she featured six times in the UEFA Champions League group stages also winning two titles with the Swiss club.
Peng herself said of the transfer: ‘It feels so good to be here. When I was 10, I dreamed of playing for Chelsea. Now, my childhood dream has come true and it’s so exciting.
I’m really happy to join the Chelsea family and get started. It’s such a big club. Chelsea want to win titles and so do I. We’re a good match. I’m hungry to win here.’
