Giannis Antetokounmpo strongly suggests he’s not entertaining trade talks

Giannis Antetokounmpo praised OKC and Indiana for reaching the Finals, and added that he hopes to return to the Finals with Milwaukee.

Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo opened up about the 2025 NBA Finals and his future with the Milwaukee Bucks during an interview with Brazil’s Coast to Coast.

“There are two great teams that got there. Indiana, with my friend Pascal Siakam, is reaping the rewards, and OKC simply has the MVP. I’m rooting for good basketball,” the Finals MVP of 2021 praised, referring to the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder reaching the Finals.

He then expressed his desire to return to the big stage—this time in Bucks green:

“The Finals are different, I hope to be back soon with the Bucks.”

Since the Bucks were knocked out in the 2025 playoffs, whispers have grown louder: talk of postponed contract talks, and speculation that contenders might seek to acquire Giannis. But this recent interview—and his explicit desire to stay—seem to squash those rumors, signaling an intent to remain for 2025–26.

Giannis isn’t just focused on the NBA—he’s also expected to represent Greece at EuroBasket 2025, taking place from August 27 to September 14 under coach Vassilis Spanoulis. His participation adds even more weight to an already pivotal offseason.
