If there is one Dallas Cowboys player that’s up to date on all of the latest trends of the internet, it’s Micah Parsons. The star defender is just as vocal on social media as his play is on the field. Surely enough, the veteran edge rusher recently participated in one of social media’s latest trends, sharing the footage on TikTok for everyone to laugh.
The trend is simple: a man calls his guy friends late at night just to tell them goodnight. Since that’s an uncommon practice in stereotypical male friendships, it usually leads to funny reactions, and that’s why the camera must be rolling. Parsons carried out this prank by calling his teammates Tyler Smith, Trevon Diggs, Osa Odighizuwa, KaVontae Turpin, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
The reactions from players were as expected: a bunch of laughs, with some even calling out the trend Parsons was doing.
It was the conversation with Schottenheimer, though, that really stole the show and got Cowboys fans excited. The first-year head coach was excited to hear from Parsons, and quickly checked in to see how he was doing. After that, Schottenheimer went into a spiel about how proud he was of how Parsons has been handling all the “weird” contract stuff.
Micah Parsons’ prank call on Brian Schottenheimer turns into a wholesome Cowboys moment
The head coach assured his star player that everything was going to get worked out, and that Parsons will be a big part of what Dallas accomplishes moving forward. You can watch the video behind this link.
It was clear Parsons didn’t expect the conversation to go there, but he certainly appreciated the words. That was evident when the defender told Schotty to take a shotty for him. Schottenheimer quickly responded that he was drinking one right now, and Parsons erupted in laughter.
This minute-long exchange really got Cowboys fans excited. For starters, it was just a nice wholesome moment to see. The biggest takeaway, however, is that Schottenheimer has a great relationship with his players. That was evident in the fact that Parsons even felt comfortable calling his head coach late at night to do this prank, and the conversation solidified it.
Hopefully, this means Schottenheimer will know how to get the best out of the players, and the high vibes in a seemingly close-knit locker room will lead to a lot of wins once the season rolls around.
