San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir is certainly not afraid to trash talk. He proved that yet again by taking to Instagram so he could talk smack about Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Screenshots of Lenoir's Insagram stories about Smith-Njigba can be viewed below:

My personal favorite is the one where Lenoir shared a video of him breaking up a pass intended for Smith-Njigba last season and wrote, "Got that Bum who threw it up to you outta there you next," referring to former Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, who is now on the Las Vegas Raiders with former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.
This is far from the first time Lenoir has gone after a Seahawks wide receiver. In that same game Lenoir shared video from, he shut down D.K. Metcalf and took to social media after the game to celebrate. While some could see it as gloating, San Francisco's star linebacker and leader Fred Warner said he believes Lenoir has earned the right to talk trash based on how well he has played.
San Francisco's front office seemed to agree as they gave Lenoir a five-year, $92 million contract extension last year. Lenoir is going to be the centerpiece of the team's secondary for a long time to come, which is great considering it unsurprisingly lost cornerback Charvarius Ward in free agency.
Lenoir has a great 2024 for the Niners as he had two interceptions and nine pass breakups in 15 games played. He has blossomed into an excellent player after starting off as a thorn in head coach Kyle Shanahan's side.
This social media spat between Lenoir and Smith-Njigba will only create more intrigue for Week 1's matchup between Seattle and San Francisco. The Niners will head to the Pacific Northwest to take on a new-look Seattle team with former 49er Sam Darnold behind center.
Lenoir has a history of trash talking Darnold as well (who hasn't he talked trash about?) so that could only add more fuel to the flames as these two bitter rivals go at it.
Even though both Smith and Metcalf are no longer on Seattle, this rivalry has proven that it can endure over the years even as the faces on each team change.
Let's hope Lenoir can back up all of his talk and intercept Darnold on a pass intended for Smith-Njigba when the two teams face off in Week 1.
