Heitinga planning quick return to Liverpool–May need transfer favour from Slot

Ajax are showing an interest in Liverpool youngster Vitezslav Jaros but may need a transfer favour from Arne Slot to get it done.

That’s [at least according to Soccer News](https://www.soccernews.nl/news/ajax-schrikt-van-nieuws-uit-liverpool/), who cover the situation today and John Heitinga’s interest in the Liverpool goalkeeper.

They explain that Ajax’s interest in Jaros was revealed on Sunday, with it statet the Dutch giants would like to secure the 23-year-old on loan this season.

However, reports in England have since poured cold water on that idea, explaining that Liverpool want a permanent sale for around €8m. At that figure, Jaros would not be a realistic option for Ajax this summer.

While Jaros is very much available, he’s aiming to leave Anfield after struggling to break through beyond Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher in recent years, he’d simply be too expensive for the Eredivisie side.

Their one hope may rest in Heitinga’s relationship with Liverpool. They don’t want to loan Jaros, but Heitinga could convince them otherwise. He, of course, spent last season as an assistant to Arne Slot and only recently departed the club.

That’s a conversation for the coming weeks, but Jaros, for now, is seemingly out of Ajax’s reach if such a conversation doesn’t go well for Heitinga.
