Pelicans Predicted To Make Surprising Move With Bruce Brown

After a nightmarish 2024-25 season, the New Orleans Pelicans are looking to make a major pivot.

They want to put the last season behind them and move forward, which will likely require some roster adjustments.

According to Evan Sidery, the Pelicans are “expected” to look at a sign-and-trade deal that features Bruce Brown.

“The Pelicans are expected to explore sign-and-trade opportunities utilizing Bruce Brown. Brown will generate significant interest from contending teams in need of wing depth. With not many teams possessing cap space, players like Brown become strong sign-and-trade candidates,” Sidery posted on X.

Brown has only spent 23 games with the Pelicans since coming from the Toronto Raptors halfway through 2024-25.

During that time, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.

Since winning a championship with the Denver Nuggets a few years ago, Brown has bounced around a bit.

He played for the Indiana Pacers before moving to the Raptors and then the Pelicans.

Now it sounds like he will likely be on the move again.

Brown hasn’t had much time to show his skills with these last few teams, but he is a talented role player, either coming off the bench or in the starting five.

There are a number of teams across the league who could greatly benefit from Brown’s skill set, but who will try to sign him?

Additionally, what other changes could the Pelicans commit to?

They have already lost Brandon Ingram, but will they part ways with other top-tier talent before the new season kicks off?

Brown hasn’t created a long relationship with the Pelicans, but will players who have been there for years soon be leaving?
