Victor Osimhen on loan at Galatasaray
Victor Osimhen is set to leave Napoli this summer
Victor Osimhen is reportedly open on a move to the Premier League this summer, having previously made his feelings clear on playing in England.
The 26-year-old is expected to leave Napoli this summer after spending the 2024/25 season on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray. He scored 37 goals in 41 games across all competitions.
After winning the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup, Osimhen returned to Napoli but is expected to depart. As interest builds, his next move could become clear soon.
With that in mind, MEN Sport has taken a look at the latest surrounding Osimhen.
Fresh Man United claim
According to Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport, United are ready to approach Napoli with a proposed player swap deal when the window reopens again on June 16. It's claimed that United are 'considering' including Joshua Zirkzee in a 'package deal.'
The report reveals that Osimhen is "dreaming" of a proposed move to Old Trafford.
Even though Alejandro Garnacho is no longer a target, good relations between the two clubs exits with that certainly helped by Scott McTominay's switch last summer.
Osimhen's reported £63million fee has complicated United's pursuit, especially after missing out on Champions League qualification - prompting the club to explore alternative ways to structure a potential deal.
'Feelings clear' on England move
Previously discussing the possibility of playing in England, Osimhen told The Independent: "Of course, one day I’d like to play for a big club in England. I've spoken to Odion [Ighalo] about it.
"He gave me very good advice, he’s a legend and a big brother. My goal is to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world but now I’m very happy in Lille. My priority is to play a lot of games. Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me."
Future claim
Speaking about his future in February, Osimhen said: "I don't know [about the future], to be honest. A few months ago, nobody ever thought I would come to Galatasaray, despite how big of a club they are.
"I live for the moment. For what's going to happen in the summer, I don't know, but I want everyone to understand something: I really love this club so much. I love the fans, I love everyone associated with this club, from the president down to the coaching staff."
Al-Hilal 'snub'
On Sunday, it came to light that the Nigerian had passed up on the opportunity to play in the Saudi Pro League. Al Hilal were even believed to have booked transport and his medical to try and seal this deal over the weekend after a £63m deal was agreed with Napoli.
However, reports emerged that Osimhen was uninterested by a move to the Middle East.
Elsewhere, Italian media outlet Tuttosport understands that Osimhen rejected a move to Saudi Arabia after learning that United and Arsenal could be holding an interest in his services.
Ruben Amorim 'stance'
It's believed the Reds currently have not bid for Osimhen. He has previously been a player on the radar and it remains to be seen if Ineos and Ruben Amorim will reignite their interest in him.
However, ESPN's Mark Ogden reported late last week that United do not see the Nigerian as being the right fit for Amorim's forward line, with the report claiming they will not pursue signing him this summer.
