In case you missed it, Alex Caruso is playing in the [NBA Finals](https://www.sbnation.com/nba-finals) for Oklahoma City right now. Of course, Aggies know Caruso for his hustle and heart during his [Texas A&M](https://www.goodbullhunting.com) days, and now he’s turning heads on basketball’s biggest stage.
The Thunder and Pacers are currently tied 1-1 with Game 3 tomorrow (June 11) at 7:30 CT on ABC/ESPN.
Caruso’s journey from undrafted rookie to NBA standout has been fun to follow. After graduating from Texas A&M in 2016, he fought his way onto a D League roster (now G League) with the Oklahoma City Blue, before impressing the Lakers in the 2017 Summer League. He came to OKC from the Chicago Bulls where he was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2023. He also won the NBA Hustle Award unsurprisingly.
Fast forward nearly a decade, and Caruso is back in Oklahoma City, now as a veteran leader on a young Thunder team competing for a championship. He’s been reliable for guarding superstars and making clutch plays. That includes scoring 20 key points off the bench in a Game 2 Finals victory. Caruso’s impact has drawn plenty of attention.
His journey perfectly reflects what Aggies love about him. Can I say grit? I’m gonna do it. GRIT! No matter how OKC’s Finals run ends, Aggieland has plenty to cheer for as Alex Caruso continues to make his mark.
