Report: Wolves put offer on the table for £4.2m defender, he'd become Pereira's second-tallest…

Wolves fans now want to see new players arrive at the football club – and we finally have a link to a new name.

So far this summer, all the activity has related to people leaving the club.

Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri have left for Manchester United and Manchester City respectively, and Pablo Sarabia, Craig Dawson and Carlos Forbs are all leaving too.

And more will follow them out the door.

Hwang Hee-chan has failed to rule out an exit from Wolves this summer.

And most recently, Goncalo Guedes has been linked with a potential move to Flamengo.

So fans are now hopeful the coming weeks will be about new signings – and Wolves apparently now have eyes on a new central defender.

It has been claimed by Africa Foot that Wolves hold an interest in Congo international Steve Kapuadi.

Kapuadi has just one year remaining on his contract with Polish outfit Legia Warsaw, which is prompting a number of clubs to look at him.

It is stated ‘his name is circulating insistently on the side of England and Germany’.

French-born Kapuadi joined Legia Warsaw in 2023 from another Polish side Wisła Płock, having previously had spells at AS Trenčín and Inter Bratislava.

He has one cap for DR Congo which came just days ago against Madagascar.

According to Africa Foot, Kapuadi has been solid in the middle for Legia and also shown versatility by sometimes playing at left-back.

Supposedly, he has several offers on the table already, including one from Wolves.

Legia are said to want around £4.2 million to sell Kapuadi.

Vitor Pereira eyeing cover and competition for Toti Gomes?

This has rather come out of nowhere, and the Polish market is not one Wolves have particularly explored recently.

That said, Wolves have actually signed a player directly from Legia Warsaw before, when they snapped up Michal Zyro back in 2016.

Potentially, Wolves might be looking at Kapuadi as someone to potentially challenge Toti Gomes.

Appearances – 47

Goals – 5

Assists – 2

Yellow/red cards – 11/0

Toti has been brilliant for Wolves, but does not really have any real competition for that role on the left of the back three, and some rivalry could be healthy.

Potentially Wolves could find a bargain in Kapuadi, who at 6ft 5in tall, could offer some real aerial presence in both boxes for Vitor Pereira’s side.

Should Wolves snap him up, he would become the second-tallest player at Molineux after Sasa Kalajdzic.

And he does have an eye for goal, having actually scored six goals for Legia – five of those coming in 2024/25.
