As Damien Comolli stepped to the microphone Tuesday for the first time since officially becoming [Juventus](https://www.blackwhitereadallover.com)’ general manager last week, there was plenty of interest of what he had to say on a wide variety of topics involving his new club.
The biggest one, though, was for the immediate future and what Igor Tudor’s status for the 2025-26 season was going to be.
We didn’t have to wait long to get an answer.
Comolli was quick to confirm Tudor — who took over for Thiago Motta as Juve’s interim manager back in mid-March — as the club’s head coach for next season. He even noted what Tudor did against Comolli’s Toulouse during their respective days in Ligue 1, saying “The year Tudor was at Marseille beat us twice. ... He made exceptional work at Marseille, their intensity and mental strength were outstanding that season.” That means Tudor will be able to rest a little easier and be able to now plan things beyond the Club World Cup, which begins later this month in the United States.
There are even scattered reports suggesting that Comolli and Juventus’ new front office could be working on a new deal for Tudor, who reportedly activated a contract clause with Champions League qualification for the 2025-26 season.

So there’s that then, folks. All of the rumors about who may or may not be Juventus’ manager next season and it ends up being the guy who is already there in Turin. (Yes, he was still technically the interim manager before this press conference in our eyes, but still ... there were rumors out there.)
Tudor being confirmed always looked more and more possible after the developments right after the 2024-25 season concluded that involved Antonio Conte — viewed by many as the No. 1 target that Juve were going to chase — and Gian Piero Gasperini. Conte, who built up Juve’s dynasty in the 2010s, decided to stay at Napoli after multiple meetings with club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and reassurances over the transfer market, while Gasperini stayed true to his word and went to Roma despite Juventus reportedly coming in with a late proposal once Conte stayed put.
With Conte and Gasperini off the board, that meant Tudor’s chances of sticking around only seemed to go up. But the Italian press suggested that Comolli — who has never previously worked for a Serie A club — could bring in somebody he’s more familiar with.
Instead, Comolli and the rest of the Juventus front office decided to stay with the man who got them (just barely) into the Champions League. And now Comolli won’t have to worry about Tudor going somewhere else and beating the club he works at again for the time being.
