The Brooklynettes are opening their ranks to new dancers this summer.

The Brooklyn Nets’ dance team is hosting auditions for their upcoming season on June 28. Aspiring dancers aged 18 and older are invited to showcase their talent at St. Joseph’s College, as the team searches for new members to join the 2025-26 squad.

Auditions will span four days, beginning with an initial day of choreography taught by Jonte Moaning, celebrity heels choreographer. Dancers who advance to the second round on June 29 will learn a high-energy hip-hop routine from assistant coach and resident choreographer Celine Edmondson, whose impressive credits include Lil Kim, Remy Ma, and Netflix’s Dance 100.

According to Criscia Long, senior director of entertainment at BSE Global, the audition process is not just about dance talent, it’s also about embodying the vibrant spirit of Brooklyn.

“We’re looking for trained dancers with star quality and the right experience and skills, but beyond that, we want dancers who bring their whole self to performing,” Long told Brooklyn Paper. “Authenticity always wins and is always valued on the Brooklynettes.”

The team’s performances have garnered attention from major outlets such as The New York Times, New York Post, and The Cut, showcasing their reputation as a dynamic and diverse entertainment group.

In addition to performing at all Brooklyn Nets home games, they represent Brooklyn at various events across the New York metropolitan area and abroad. Their professional credits include work in music videos, television, film, theater and commercials.

“Whether you see them at Barclays Center, representing the Brooklyn Nets at community events, or performing internationally, the Brooklynettes reflect the vibrant culture and spirit of Brooklyn,” Long said. “From performances inspired by the biggest artists to those celebrating our Nets Unite theme nights, which highlight the diverse cultures that make up Brooklyn, the Brooklynettes are uniquely and authentically Brooklyn.”

Auditions will be overseen by Long, with a panel of distinguished guest judges including Fatima Wilson from UTA Talent Agency and choreographers Miles Keeney,who has performed on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” andNeil Schwartz,who has choreographed for “America’s Got Talent.”
