Yet for United supporters, Sunday’s game offers a particularly nostalgic twist.

That’s because a record nine former Manchester United legends are set to feature across both teams.

Thus, marking the largest ever Red Devils contingent in Soccer Aid history.

As per Daily Mail’s report, Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville will line up for England, alongside iconic midfield duo Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes, who will be reuniting in the middle of the park.

On the opposing side, the World XI team will feature Nemanja Vidic, Carlos Tevez, Edwin van der Sar, and John O’Shea, adding an international flavour to the United connection.

Meanwhile, legendary Treble-winning goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will be managing the World XI from the sidelines, completing the nine-man Red Devils lineup.

Several United-supporting celebrities are also involved, including Steve Bartlett, Tyson Fury, Bryan Habana, and Noah Beck.

Daily Mail’s report also states that YouTubers AngryGinge and TBJZL will be present, bringing social media firepower to the Old Trafford spectacle.

Wayne Rooney, who remains without a managerial job since leaving Plymouth Argyle, will have dual responsibilities.

Rooney will be playing and assisting in the England dugout.

The Englishman recently spoke on his pride in returning to Old Trafford, to help fundraise.

Soccer Aid 2025 is set for kickoff on Sunday, with excitement building for a night of football, fun, and fundraising, featuring a proud display of Manchester United heritage.
