Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer speculation from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Marquinhos, Gabriel and Benjamin Sesko…
Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a new long-term contract with us, and the Brazilian defender has announced just how excited he is to have signed a new deal with ARSENAL
Gabi started his career with Avai in Santa Catarina in Brazil before making the move to France in January 2017, when he signed for Lille. The centre-back spent time on loan with Troyes in Ligue 1 and Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, where he won the domestic double in the 2017/18 campaign.
The 27-year-old defender arrived from Ligue 1 side Lille in September 2020 and has made 210 appearances in all competitions, becoming a key member of our defensive unit as well as scoring 20 goals.
There has been some talk that a move to Real Madrid or PSG could happen this summer as both clubs were keeping a close eye on his situation at the Emirates, but have not forgot about a potential deal as he has agreed a new one at Arsenal
Reflecting after signing his new contract, Gabi said: “I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot. I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.
“Arsenal is an amazing club and I’m so proud to sign a new contract. I love this club, I love the supporters, my teammates, I love this stadium. I’m so proud and thank you for all the support. We continue together for the future.”

ARSENAL will probably make some big signings this summer, they will add some quality to the squad, but keeping some of the clubs very best players will be better than any signings that come into the Emirates.
Gabriel really is one of the best central defenders in the game and a massive reason why Arsenal are so good defensively, so this is great news that he has committed his immediate future to the plans of Mikel Arteta.
MARQUINHOS DEAL DONE
Marquinhos has moved to Brazilian Serie A side Cruzeiro in a permanent transfer, ARSENAL have officially announced on the club website this week.
The Gunners posted on the club website: ‘The 22-year-old joined us from Sao Paulo in June 2022 and made six appearances in all competitions. He scored an impressive first goal for us on his competitive debut in our 2-1 away win against FC Zurich in the UEFA Europa League group stage in September of the same year.
‘Marquinhos progressed through Sao Paulo’s academy and graduated to the first team, making his debut as an 18-year-old. He made 33 first-team appearances during his time with Sao Paulo and was a part of the squad which won the Compeonato Paulista in 2021.
‘The left-footed forward spent valuable time on loan with Norwich City, Nantes, Fluminense and Cruzeiro during his Arsenal career. Marquinhos made 11 appearances for Norwich City during the 2022/23 season in a short-term loan spell. Seven appearances for Nantes in Ligue 1 came the following season before his recall.
‘He then signed a year-long loan with then recently crowned Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense. Marquinhos made 29 appearances in all competitions and lifted silverware in Brazil once again, when Fluminense won the Recopa Sudamericana against LDU Quito in March 2024.
Marquinhos has been on loan with Cruzeiro since January 2025 and has made 18 appearances in all competitions.
‘A Brazil youth international, Marquinhos has made 18 appearances between Under-16 and Under-23 level, representing his country in the Under-17 South American Championship and Under-20 World Cup.
‘Everyone at ARSENAL would like to thank Marquinhos for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future.
‘The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.’

That move to Arsenal was never the right one to make at that young age, he was not ready for a move to Europe, this deal make sense for all involved.
It really is that simple guys.
SESKO PRICE SET
The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been told RB Leipzig will require at least £75million for top strike target Benjamin Sesko, it has been reported in the media this week.
Despite Chelsea and ARSENAL claiming Champions League football this season, there has been alot of speculation that both clubs need to delve into that transfer kitty and add a striker that has the ability to score 20, 30 or even 40 goals a season.
Sesko has been on the agenda of the Premier League giants for the last few seasons, but made the decision last year that he wanted to stay put for one more season to help his development, with many believing that a move will happen this transfer window.
Arsenal have been named as the favourites to get a transfer deal done for the big man but the Gunners were told of the asking price as sporting director Andrea Berta held a ‘secret meeting’ with his Leipzig counterpart.
Leipzig have reportedly claimed that they would like £75 million to let Sesko leave, and are reportedly hoping it’s all sorted soon – so they know where they stand with their budget and transfer kitty for next season.

Sesko is a very young striker that has the ability to score some goals, in the Bundesliga. The Premier League will be a massive step up for the lad that he may struggle with making if he joins the wrong team.
Mikel Arteta knows that he needs a striker and Sesko is just the type of forward he would surely like at the club. If ARSENAL really want to sign a top forward, then they have to start spending the money.
Is £75 million alot for one of the best young strikers around?
He has the potential to score 30 goals a season in that creative attack at Arsenal that is for sure.
