Arsenal Should Hijack £40m Tottenham Deal And Sign Premier League Star This Summer - Opinion

Arsenal should hijack Tottenham’s reported interest in Manchester City winger Jack Grealish this summer.

Grealish is set to leave Manchester City after what has been a spell with a simple lack of football for the England international. He fell out of favour with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium, and so is now set for a summer transfer.

Arsenal are looking to add a winger this summer, as they need more depth in attacking areas. They have been linked to signing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo this summer, he is expected to cost around £68 million.

Meanwhile, they are also reportedly keen on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, who has a £48m release clause in his contract at the Spanish club.

Arsenal should sign Grealish instead

According to a report by the Sun, Manchester City would be willing to sell Grealish for £40m this summer, with the front-runners to sign him currently Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen as a replacement for Florian Wirtz, who looks set to join Liverpool.

However, the report also says that a handful of Premier League clubs are keen to sign Grealish too. Tottenham are one of the main suitors in England alongside Newcastle United, and the winger’s former club Aston Villa.

However, if Arsenal were to make a move, the 29-year-old could easily be tempted with a move to the Emirates, as he can fight for Premier League titles, and get to play alongside England teammates Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.

Grealish is a proven Premier League winger, who has showed himself at his best to be one of the most exciting and difficult attackers to defend against in the league.

Man City signed Grealish for £100m from Aston Villa, but seeing as he is now available for £40m, he would be cheaper than Williams and Rodrygo, and the difference is that he has already shown that he can be an elite player in the Premier League.
