Zach Lowe doesn't seem to think one of the proposed packages being thrown around for Kevin Durant is adequate. The assets in question would be Jeremy Sochan, Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson, and the number 14 pick overall. Maybe I'm looking through Silver and Black lenses, but I feel like that's a solid package for an almost 37-year-old player coming off an injury. Lowe disagrees.
> Lowe in regards to the Spurs' package of Keldon, Sochan, Barnes, and #14: "That's it?"

I was a little surprised to see that response from the former ESPN-er. I agree with many of his takes, and was happy when he resurfaced after leaving the sports giant, but this take feels unreasonable. [Kevin Durant is not in his prime](https://airalamo.com/bill-simmons-shocking-kevin-durant-prediction-excite-spurs-fans) anymore. I'd laugh right along with Phoenix fans if we were talking about a 30-year-old KD, but we're more than half a decade past that scenario.
Sochan and Johnson are being undervalued by Lowe
------------------------------------------------
Let's be clear about something. The young guys in this package are not bad players. They need time and the right situation, but they should 100% more the needle. The last time Keldon Johnson was a focal point in the starting lineup, he averaged 20 ppg, and he was still learning how to play NBA basketball.
He took a step back when his role changed, but his play in the last couple of months of this season should encourage would-be suitors to go after KJ. He's shown that he's a great locker room guy, he's willing to do whatever is asked of him, and he brings relentless energy that his teammates feed off. That's in addition to the production on the floor.
Jeremy Sochan is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He's had success up against some of the best wing players the NBA has to offer. He's only 23, and he's getting better. If you've seen the video of him floating around social media, he's already improved his form by a significant margin. The hitch in his jumper seems to be completely gone.
That's a drive to improve that not every player has. This is a player who chose to shoot free throws one-handed, completely ignoring the criticism that would come his way. It worked for him, and he doesn't care if it looks silly. It was effective.
I wouldn't even want to include Jeremy Sochan in this deal. You'll take Devin Vassell and be happy about it. If you think Vassell is more valuable than the Polish Prince, then more power to you. I'll keep the 6'9" forward with arms over 7'0" long, who can cause SGA problems.
That doesn't even take into account Barnes, who can be flipped for more assets, and the 14th pick they can use to instantly add talent to their team. Okay, we'll throw in a couple of second-rounders too. But that's it.
