Cowboys Could Make Blockbuster Trade for Jalen Ramsey

One of the players that has had the most buzz surrounding him this offseason has been Miami Dolphins All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, as the team has expressed a big interest in trading him.

Well, trade-dumping him, really, due to the money owed him.

In a recent article by Yahoo Sports, some of their writers put together a list of the NFL trades that they would like to see this offseason. For Nate Tice, he said that he would like to see the Dallas Cowboys make the blockbuster move for Ramsey.

"I think he ages well because I think he can play corner, he could play the slot, and I think he'll transition to safety as his career goes along," Tice said. "I think he's on that Charles Woodson arc career arc. It's really the only area that's concerning about their defense, is that secondary," Harmon said, "because as long as Micah Parsons is there, they're going to be an above average defense at the worst."

Ramsey is one of the most versatile defensive backs in the NFL, so he could do anything that the Cowboys asked of him, which would be nice given the fact that the team already has (rehabbing) Trevon Diggs and Daron Bland at corner.

Ramsey is now a 30-year-old defensive star ... but he finished this past season with a solid 60 total tackles, with six of them being for a loss. He was also able to show his impressive ball-hawk skills with a pair of interceptions and 11 passes defended.

But ...

What about the $25 million or so salary?

Dallas missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020 this past season, so we get Yahoo's point, as trading for a veteran presence like Ramsey could be a very intriguing option for them to consider.

But Yahoo might not understand the Cowboys point when they have said, on the record, that they are not pursuing this idea.

And we just gave you the 25 million reasons why.
